Right of Way Specialist / Title Agent

Location: Richmond, VA
Job Type: Long-Term Contract Opportunity

Our client is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Right of Way Specialist / Title Agent to support land acquisition and property research efforts for infrastructure and utility-related projects. This role will be responsible for facilitating right of way activities including title review, permitting, stakeholder coordination, document management, and project support across multiple project locations.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of right of way acquisition processes, real estate documentation, title research, and land-related agreements, along with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, prepare, review, and interpret land and right of way related agreements, deeds, easements, leases, permits, and licenses
  • Research and collect real property-related project documentation
  • Translate right of way data and documentation into stakeholder management databases
  • Perform quality assurance reviews of stakeholder management database entries completed by field agents
  • Present technical information and project updates to right of way project teams
  • Prepare and submit permit applications in support of project activities
  • Develop project status reports, acquisition reports, and technical documentation for project teams and client management
  • Maintain project documentation, meeting agendas, and document control processes
  • Assist with subcontractor coordination including contract reviews, invoices, and change order management
  • Support public involvement and stakeholder meetings as needed
  • Assist with project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and tracking critical project objectives
  • Coordinate construction support and restoration activities related to right of way projects
  • Ensure compliance with company and site safety policies and procedures
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred
  • Applicable right of way, title, real estate, or project management experience may be substituted for degree requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in:
    • Right of way acquisition
    • Relocation and eminent domain
    • Real estate or title research
    • Project coordination or management
  • Ability to read and interpret:
    • Title reports
    • Appraisal reports
    • Land surveys
    • Legal property descriptions
  • Demonstrated knowledge of:
    • General real estate law
    • Real estate title work
    • Land acquisition processes
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Experience with database systems and stakeholder management tools
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must be eligible to maintain company driving privileges in accordance with company motor vehicle policies
