This hands-on role is responsible for safely rigging, lifting, moving, loading, unloading, staging, storing, and retrieving large industrial equipment using overhead cranes, forklifts, rigging equipment, and other material-handling tools.

This position floats between ISS warehouse facilities based on operational needs, customer requirements, equipment movement schedules, and staffing coverage. The successful candidate will help ensure customer assets are handled safely, accurately, and efficiently while maintaining a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, pallet jacks, rigging equipment, and other material-handling equipment to safely move, load, unload, stack, stage, and organize customer assets and materials.
  • Perform rigging and lifting activities for large, heavy, valuable, or irregularly shaped industrial equipment, including pumps, motors, turbines, compressors, vessels, skids, machinery, and related components.
  • Inspect loads, lifting points, rigging equipment, slings, chains, hooks, shackles, spreader bars, and other lifting devices before use to ensure safe condition and proper application.
  • Execute lifting, rigging, and material-handling activities in accordance with company safety standards, equipment limitations, customer requirements, OSHA requirements, and applicable regulations.
  • Receive, stage, store, retrieve, and prepare customer assets for shipment while maintaining accurate inventory locations and efficient warehouse organization.
  • Support inbound and outbound activities, including unloading shipments, inspecting materials, identifying damages or discrepancies, loading materials, and preparing items for customer pickup, delivery, or transfer.
  • Move customer assets between warehouse facilities as directed, including supporting internal transfers, equipment movements, and facility coverage needs.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, spotters, signal persons, drivers, customers, and warehouse personnel to safely coordinate material movements and lifting operations.
  • Conduct routine pre-use inspections of forklifts, cranes, rigging equipment, and related tools; report maintenance, safety, or equipment concerns promptly.
  • Assist with inventory activities, including locating materials, verifying equipment identification, supporting cycle counts, and reporting discrepancies.
  • Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas, including aisles, staging areas, storage locations, loading zones, and equipment paths.
  • Support warehouse teams during peak workloads, customer-driven moves, receiving/shipping deadlines, facility reorganizations, or staffing shortages.
  • Travel between ISS warehouse facilities as assigned to support daily operations, equipment moves, and customer needs.
  • Perform other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2–5 years of experience in industrial warehousing, rigging, crane operation, forklift operation, material handling, logistics, or a related industrial environment required.
  • Experience moving large industrial equipment, rotating equipment, machinery, pressure vessels, pumps, motors, compressors, turbines, skids, or similar heavy assets strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of rigging practices, load handling, lift safety, load securement, and the safe movement of large or irregularly shaped materials.
  • Experience operating overhead cranes and forklifts in an industrial or heavy-equipment warehouse environment.
  • Valid forklift certification required or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
  • Overhead crane and/or rigger certification required or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
