Operations Manager

Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing all aspects of field operations, including leading operational teams, coordinating with airline and airport stakeholders, and ensuring the consistent execution ofoperational procedures and policies. This role plays a critical part in managing daily operations, responding to emergencies and service disruptions, and collaborating with senior leadership to maintain operational excellence. The Operations Manager is also responsible for identifying opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and enhance service quality across multiple locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the delivery of services for airline and airport customers in accordance with contractual obligations and budget requirements.
  • Ensure all safety, security, and operational policies comply with applicable regulatory and industry standards.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with airline station managers, airport operations personnel, handling agents, Customs, Immigration, Security officials, and other airport stakeholders.
  • Lead local recruiting, hiring, and staffing initiatives while ensuring workforce levels support operational and service requirements.
  • Monitor operational performance metrics and implement corrective actions to address service gaps and performance deficiencies.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to identify and resolve operational issues, audit findings, and process inefficiencies.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to frontline and supervisory teams.
  • Investigate and document accidents, incidents, workplace injuries, passenger-related events, and property or aircraft damage.
  • Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations, security requirements, and company policies.
  • Support and promote diversity, inclusion, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Assist with or lead startup operations and business expansion initiatives across multiple service lines.
  • Serve as interim leadership support during vacancies or operational transitions.
  • Travel extensively to support airport locations, operational reviews, audits, and business meetings.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.
Qualifications

Required

  • Minimum 18 years of age.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Ability to work onsite in an office and operational airport environment, Monday through Friday, with flexibility as business needs require.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership and operations management experience.
  • Demonstrated success managing large teams in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and team development skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of airport operations, aviation services, and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to pass required background screening and drug testing.
  • Willingness and ability to travel more than 75% of the time.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed to support operational requirements.
Preferred

  • Project management experience.
  • Multi-site operations management experience.
  • Experience working within aviation, airport services, ground handling, or transportation operations.
