Mission or Goal of Unit: The Division is dedicated to thepursuit of excellence in teaching, research, and clinical care in the fields ofRheumatology, Allergy and Immunology. We do so by providing superior,compassionate and innovative clinical care to our patients and to conduct anddisseminate clinical, research and scholarship, with a focus on the care ofpatients and education of future clinicians.

Chief Purpose of this position: Weare seeking a Rheumatologist for a clinical faculty position within theDivision of Rheumatology, Allergy and Immunology at Virginia CommonwealthUniversity. 

Position Responsibilities: 

Teaching | This position will be activelyinvolved in the education and training of the Rheumatology fellows.

• Provideteaching service to learners, including medical students, interns andresidents
• Usecontemporary adult learning methods to promote evidence-based practice
• Demonstrateeffective teaching skills and continually develop as a teacher for learners atall levels
• Completerequired evaluations of learners in a timely manner – including but not limitedto written and verbal feedback
• Participatein other learning activities such as foundations of clinical medicine, morningreport, core conference, and other formal educational programs forundergraduate and post-graduate learners

Clinical | Will provide exemplary care in thearea of Rheumatology- in outpatient ambulatory clinics and on consult services

Required Qualifications: 

• Board certified inRheumatology and in Internal Medicine
• Demonstratedboth scholarly and clinical abilities through patient care, teaching andclinical research
