Job Title: Revenue Cycle Specialist

Division: Patient Business Services

Work Arrangement: Hybrid

Location: Houston, TX

Salary Range: $47,372 to $55,731

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Summary

The Revenue Cycle Specialist will assist team members with solving problems, motivating or coaching team members to accomplish their goals and enhance their skill set. Key responsibilities include assisting with training staff, steps in when team members are out and offering supervision to the team if or when supervisor is not available. Assist supervisor with day-to-day operation.

This position also monitors and maintains workques (registrations, self-pay, Medicaid found, and others) assists with missing surgery reports, reviews operative notes to determine if ready for processing, assists with data entry, Resolves patient billing issues, resolves patient reconciliations reports, assists with helping departments meet monthly goals and deadlines. Processes billing for varies departments in a timely manner.

This position is located at our Greenway Plaza location.

Job Duties

  • Reports any significant discrepancies, issues, or problems to the supervisor for resolution.
  • Maintains professional relationships and convey relevant information to other members of the team within the organization.
  • Organizes and prioritizes assigned work and schedule time to accommodate work demands, turnaround time requirements, and commitments.
  • Ensures all patient registration and charges are entered accurately, completely, and timely.
  • Verifies that all surgery charges for patients have supporting documentation and relevant information prepared for coding.
  • Maintains work queues and paper charges daily to ensure appropriate charge capture.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Three years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Exposure or experience with medical coding.
