Job Summary
The Revenue Cycle Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire revenue cycle process, from patient registration and insurance verification through billing, collections, and payment posting. This role ensures accurate, timely reimbursement while maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and improving financial performance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the revenue cycle, including front-end, mid-cycle, and back-end operations
  • Oversee medical billing, coding, charge capture, and claims submission
  • Monitor and reduce claim denials and rejections
  • Ensure timely accounts receivable (AR) follow-up and collections
  • Analyze financial data and generate KPIs and performance reports
  • Maintain compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations (e.g., HIPAA, CMS guidelines)
  • Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and finance teams to improve workflows
  • Implement process improvements to maximize revenue and efficiency
  • Train, supervise, and evaluate revenue cycle staff
  • Manage payer relationships and resolve reimbursement issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Finance, Business, or related field (Master’s preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle, with leadership experience
  • Strong knowledge of medical billing, coding (ICD-10, CPT), and payer systems
  • Experience with EHR/RCM software (e.g., Epic, Cerner)
  • Familiarity with insurance guidelines and reimbursement methodologies
