The Revenue Accountant is responsible for analyzing oil and gas revenue and ownership to ensure accurate and timely disbursement to interest owners. This role supports the integrity of revenue accounting by reviewing purchaser statements, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with company policies and accounting standards.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Review purchaser statements & check details for all products to determine accuracy of revenue payments
Work with Purchasers and/or other Operators to resolve discrepancies discovered through accuracy review
Use purchaser statements & check details received from Purchaser and/or other Operators to create uploads directly into Accounting Software (SAP)
Use volumes and contractual rates to create uploads directly into Accounting Software (SAP)
Provide proper documentation for revenue voucher submitted for review
Ensure all revenue voucher related back-up is scanned and saved in proper locations
Meet all revenue distribution deadlines
Assist other members of the Revenue Group as needed
Perform various ad hoc projects as assigned
Communicate with other departments within the company to resolve outstanding items
Prepare monthly account reconciliations as needed
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree (BBA or BS) in Accounting
Minimum of Three (3+) years of experience in oil & gas accounting
Demonstrated experience in MS Excel, including skills creating and configuring VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, and Sum IF formulas
Familiar with revenue accounting, production, and general accounting principles
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working within the PRA module of SAP
Examples of suggested and implemented process improvements to increase efficiency
Be flexible regarding daily work assignments and priorities
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Strong attention to detail with ability to quickly pick up on new concepts
