A leading middle-market investment bank or corporate advisory firm may seek a Returns & Accretion Analyst to support M&A, capital markets, and investment decision-making with a focus on modeling returns, accretion/dilution, and transaction analysis. These roles are ideal for candidates who enjoy detailed financial analysis, modeling, and quantitative evaluation of transactions.
Build and maintain financial models to evaluate M&A transactions, including accretion/dilution, EPS impact, and scenario analyses
Analyze historical and projected returns for potential investments and deals
Conduct industry research, benchmarking, and valuation analyses to support transaction assumptions
Prepare detailed reports, pitch books, and presentations highlighting transaction returns and financial impacts
Assist with due diligence, data room review, and transaction execution processes
Collaborate with deal teams and senior bankers to assess the financial implications of strategic decisions
Monitor portfolio or deal performance against projections and identify variances
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline
Strong skills in financial modeling, accretion/dilution analysis, and valuation techniques
Excellent analytical, quantitative, and communication abilities
Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment
High attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Prior internship or full-time experience in investment banking, corporate finance, private equity, or FP&A is beneficial
Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and financial data platforms (Bloomberg, FactSet, Capital IQ, etc.)
