Retina Ophthalmic Technician (0.8 FTE)

Join our Retina Department as an Ophthalmic Technician and help patients protect and preserve their vision. In this fast-paced and specialized environment, you’ll work alongside experienced retina specialists while building valuable clinical skills.

What You’ll Do

  • Support retina specialists during patient exams, procedures, and treatments
  • Screen and document visual acuity findings and various other ocular testing
  • Accurately document patient history, medications, and test results
  • Assist with refractions to help determine vision needs
  • Educate patients on eye conditions and follow-up care
  • Escort and assist patients throughout their visit, ensuring comfort and safety
  • Prepare exam rooms, complete forms, and support efficient clinic flow
  • Collaborate closely with providers and team members to deliver outstanding patient care

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Previous medical or ophthalmology experience is a plus—but we’re willing to train the right candidate
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort with computers and technology
  • Excellent communication skills and a compassionate, patient-first mindset

Work Environment

This role is based within our Retina Services team, with a home clinic location and travel to satellite locations as needed. The position requires a mix of sitting and standing, along with occasional lifting (30 pounds), bending, stooping, pushing, pulling, and climbing stairs.
