Store Supervisor

Reports To: Assistant Store Manager / Store Manager

Job Summary

The Store Supervisor assists with overseeing daily store operations, supporting team members, and ensuring an excellent customer experience. This role helps maintain store standards, drive sales, and create a positive and productive work environment while demonstrating company core values of being positive towards people and pets, eager to learn, team-oriented, and accountable.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Support daily store operations to ensure efficient workflow and excellent customer service.
  • Provide direction, support, and coaching to team members during assigned shifts.
  • Assist with training employees on company procedures, product knowledge, and customer service expectations.
  • Help maintain merchandising standards, product displays, and overall store appearance.
  • Monitor customer interactions and assist in resolving customer concerns professionally and promptly.
  • Support inventory processes including stocking, recovery, pricing, and inventory accuracy.
  • Assist with opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and operational checklists.
  • Promote a positive team environment focused on teamwork, accountability, and communication.
  • Help ensure compliance with company policies, safety procedures, and operational standards.
  • Serve as manager-on-duty when assigned.

Qualifications

  • Previous retail experience required; prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead by example and support a team-oriented environment.
  • Customer-focused with strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced retail environment.
  • Basic computer and POS system knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.

Work Environment

This position requires frequent interaction with customers, employees, pets, and pet-related products in a retail store environment. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require.
