Position Overview
We are seeking a friendly and reliable Sales Associate to join our team. In this role, you will assist customers with purchases, operate the cash register, restock merchandise, and maintain a clean and safe store environment. The ideal candidate will have excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and assist customers in a friendly manner
- Accurately process transactions using the cash register and handle payments
- Stock shelves and coolers with merchandise
- Maintain cleanliness of the store, including the sales floor, restrooms, and fuel pumps
- Monitor fuel pumps and assist customers as needed
- Follow safety and security procedures, including age verification for restricted products
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve complaints professionally
Skills & Requirements
- Must be 21 years of age or older
- Familiarity with electronic equipment, including cash registers and other POS systems
- Basic math skills and proficiency in using computers
- Effective communication skills and a strong customer focus
- Ability to collaborate with the team to manage workload and pace effectively
- Willingness to learn about store processes, products, and services
- Ability to remain composed in confrontational situations
- Capability to work in a high-volume, sometimes high-pressure environment
- Flexibility to work a schedule that includes Sunday through Saturday
- Availability to open and close the store as needed
- Must be able to work in cold environments, such as outdoor cold weather and indoor coolers
- Must also be able to work in heat during the summer months to perform outdoor duties.
