A Day in YOUR Life as a Retail Pharmacy Support

The Retail Pharmacy Support Assistant performs clerical, customer service, cashier, and inventory-related duties within the outpatient pharmacy. This role is critical to supporting daily pharmacy operations and delivering positive patient and family experience, including participation in Meds to Beds workflows.

Schedule:PRN required Every weekend (Arnold Palmer location)

  • Hours: Satuirday & Sunday, 9:00 AM – 2 PM

Responsibilities

  • Cash handling, register operations, and daily opening/closing procedures
  • Completing pharmacy and over-the-counter sales with exceptional customer service
  • Bagging, filing, and preparing completed prescriptions for patient pickup
  • Delivering medications to pharmacy locker systems and supporting the Meds to Beds program
  • Coordinating medication delivery and payment methods for Meds to Beds patients
  • Answering phones and routing calls appropriately
  • Contacting patients or prescribers to resolve outstanding issues
  • Performing prescription pickup reminder calls and return-to-stock for aged prescriptions
  • Managing and replenishing pharmacy and supply inventory, including cycle counts and outdated product monitoring
  • Assisting with receiving and putting away medication, supply, and OTC orders
  • Maintaining prescription files and understanding historical storage procedures
  • Collaborating effectively with pharmacists, technicians, and other pharmacy staff
  • Demonstrating proficiency in dispensing and point-of-sale systems
  • Maintaining compliance with all Orlando Health policies and attendance standards

Required Qualifications

  • Education/Training
    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Completion of the in-house Pharmacy Support Assistant entry-level training program
    • Ability to speak, read, and understand Basic English
  • Licensure/Certification
    • None required

    • No prior experience required
