Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY

The Retail Pharmacy Manager/Pharmacist-in-Charge (PIC) is responsible for overseeing all aspects of

the pharmacy's operations, including regulatory compliance, personnel, prescription fulfillment,

inventory, and financial performance. This role ensures adherence to all state and federal regulations

while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and patient-centered care. The manager leads a high-

performing team, drives operational efficiency, and implements innovative services that enhance patient

health and support the long-term growth and sustainability of the pharmacy.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • Current State of California Registered Pharmacist License required.
  • Eligible for and willing to serve as Pharmacist-in-Charge with the California Board of Pharmacy.
  • Doctor or Master of Pharmacy Degree required.

Knowledge:

  • Minimum 6 years of progressive retail pharmacy experience, with at least 1 year in a

management role overseeing operations, regulatory compliance, and budgetary goals.

  • Current knowledge of standards and regulations required by the Board of Pharmacy, Joint

Commission (JC), CDPH, DEA, and other state and federal agencies.

  • Strong knowledge of pharmacy operations, insurance billing, and payor relations.

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to think innovatively and implement patient-centered services that expand the role of

pharmacy in community health.

  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and technology.
