Sodexo Campus Segment is seeking an experienced Retail Manager 3 to lead operations at Traditions, a full-service restaurant located in the bustling retail student center at The College of New Jersey located in Ewing, NJ. This is a year-round, high-profile role supporting a premier university dining program.

 

Traditionsoperates 7 days a week, serving lunch and dinner Monday–Friday and brunch on weekends. The ideal candidate will bring strong restaurant leadership experience, union management expertise, and the creativity to drive menu innovation, culinary trends, and exceptional guest experience.

What You'll Do:
  • Champion a Zero Harm mindset—ensuring safety for employees, customers, and food quality.
  • Lead daily restaurant operations, ensuring exceptional food quality, hospitality, and service consistency.
  • Oversee menu creation, culinary innovation, and trend-forward offerings tailored to the student community.
  • Manage cash-handling protocols and ensure compliance with Sodexo financial controls.
  • Maintain strong client relationships, ensuring high satisfaction with food and service delivery.
  • Support and develop a diverse team including hourly staff, supervisors, and fellow managers.
  • Ensure the unit has the proper equipment, supplies, and resources to operate efficiently.
  • Uphold Sodexo service standards and operational excellence across all branded and non-branded retail concepts.

  • Proven restaurant management experience, ideally in a high-volume or campus environment.
  • Strong union management experience and ability to lead in a collaborative, structured environment.
  • Creativity and innovation in menu development and culinary trends.

  • Solid understanding of financial controls, including cash handling and inventory management.
  • Strong people leadership skills with experience supervising diverse frontline teams.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Minimum Education Requirement - Associate's Degree or equivalent experience
Minimum Management Experience - 2 years
Minimum Functional Experience – 1 year of work experience in concessions, retail sales, or store operations
