The Reno-Sparks Indian Colony (RSIC) is a federally recognized tribal government dedicated to the economic and social advancement of its people. Established in the early 1900s and formally recognized under the Indian Reorganization Act of 1934, the RSIC represents over 1,100 members of the Paiute, Shoshone, and Washoe Tribes—Three Tribes, One Nation. Our lands include the original 28-acre Colony in central west Reno and a 1,920-acre community in Hungry Valley, located 19 miles north of the Colony in the scenic Eagle Canyon region of Nevada. As a Full-Time Retail Clerk at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony's Smoke Shop, you will play a vital role in the daily operations of a community hub. Your responsibilities will encompass a variety of essential tasks, including delivering outstanding customer service, managing register operations, and ensuring accurate inventory control and store setup. In addition to these duties, you will maintain a clean and organized environment while implementing effective loss control measures.

To excel as a Full-Time Retail Clerk at the Reno-Sparks Indian Colony’s Smoke Shop, candidates must possess a high school diploma or G.E.D. certificate at the time of hire. Physical stamina is essential, as the role requires lifting, bending, walking, and standing for extended periods. A passing score on a pre-employment basic math test demonstrates the necessary numerical proficiency for register operations and inventory management.
Ideal candidates will have prior experience in roles, whether volunteer or paid, that involve direct customer interaction and service. Additionally, flexibility in scheduling is crucial, as the position may require working evenings, weekends, and holidays.
