The Archdiocese of Detroit Department of Parish Renewal seeks an Analytics Specialist to support the next phase of Archdiocesan Restructuring. This temporary (1–2-year limited term) part-time role will strengthen project management infrastructure and provide advanced analytical support to leadership as pastorate planning and implementation move into sustained execution.

Working closely with the Director of Pastoral Strategies, this position serves as a force multiplier by translating complex initiatives into structured systems and clear, decision-ready insights. This role will also collaborate alongside additional departmental initiatives related to data systems, dashboard implementation, and reporting processes.

Duties and Responsibilities Parish Renewal and Restructuring

Systems & Project Management Infrastructure
  • Design and implement a comprehensive project management framework using tools such as Hive and Jira
  • Support church closure processes, pastorate modeling, implementation sequencing, and cross-departmental coordination
  • Establish standards for task ownership, milestone tracking, escalation, and documentation
  • Translate complex workstreams into clear, executable workflows
Advanced Analytics & Modeling Support
  • Provide analytical and comparative support for pastorate models
  • Synthesize complex datasets into decision-ready insights
  • Identify trade-offs, assumptions, readiness considerations, and potential risks
  • Collaborate with leaders to align analysis with decision timelines
Duties and Responsibilities Catholic Schools Projects

NCEA Data Collection
  • Manage external communication and coordination with schools to ensure timely data submission
  • Direct the aggregation, validation, and completion of the data collection cycle
 
Dashboard Project Manager & Implementation Partner
  • Ensure overall dashboard functionality and ongoing data accuracy
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders to confirm operational and functional requirements are met
  • Develop a working understanding of the dashboard’s architecture and translate it into a practical, usable tool for the Department of Catholic Schools
  • Provide in=person training and ongoing support resources to Associate Superintendents utilizing the dashboard with school principals and pastors

Supervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities.

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience in project management systems and workflow design
Ability to analyze complex datasets and produce clear insights
Strong organizational, communication, and collaboration skills

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Experience with Hive, Jira, or similar tools
Background in analytics, systems design, or data modeling
Experience in mission-driven or cross-functional environments

Education and Experience Requirements
A bachelor's degree in business analytics, computer science, mathematics or related field
1 to 3 years' experience in data analysis, project management, data modeling and system design

Travel Required
Must have reliable transportation and the ability to travel throughout the Archdiocese.
