This seasonal Restaurant Manager role runs from April 27 through September 20 and oversees dining room operations during peak summer service at SALT Shelter Island.

This is a hands-on, floor-driven management role for someone who thrives in high-volume environments and maintains strong hospitality standards under pressure.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily dining room operations in a high-volume waterfront setting
  • Manage and support a team of 15–20 FOH employees
  • Maintain service pacing, reservations flow, and guest experience standards
  • Lead pre-shifts and maintain visible floor presence
  • Monitor labor performance and support cost awareness
  • Oversee scheduling and payroll coordination
  • Manage ordering, receiving, and purveyor relationships
  • Support inventory management and operational organization
  • Ensure food safety compliance
  • Handle guest relations and service recovery

Qualifications

  • 5+ years FOH management experience
  • Experience in high-volume, full-service restaurants
  • Strong floor presence and calm execution under pressure
  • Understanding of reservations systems and dining room flow
  • Experience with POS systems and scheduling platforms
  • P&L familiarity and labor cost awareness
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • English required; Spanish a plus
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs
