Pay:
 $45,000.00-$70,000.00 per year

Position Summary

The Restaurant Manager supports overall front-of-house (FOH) operations and works directly with the General Manager/AGM to maintain service standards, lead the FOH team, and ensure an exceptional guest experience. This role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and a passion for fine dining. The Restaurant Manager serves as a key point of contact between FOH and BOH to ensure smooth, coordinated service.

Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience & Service Leadership

  • Provide warm, polished, and attentive guest service aligned with fine-dining standards
  • Greet guests, assist with service issues, and maintain strong floor presence
  • Support pacing and flow of the dining room to ensure optimal guest experience
  • Collaborate with the GM to refine service standards, scripts, and FOH procedures

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise FOH staff including servers, hosts, food runners, and bartenders
  • Assist with onboarding, training, and continuous staff development
  • Lead pre-shift meetings to review menu changes, service notes, and daily goals
  • Maintain a professional and positive team environment

Operational Execution

  • Oversee daily service setup including table settings, ambiance, and station readiness
  • Support reservation management, guest notes, and floor planning
  • Assist with completing daily reports, checklists, and service logs
  • Work closely with the kitchen to ensure clear communication and service coordination

Administrative & Business Responsibilities

  • Help create weekly schedules and manage staff shifts
  • Monitor labor costs and staffing efficiency
  • Assist with inventory, FOH supply ordering, and vendor communication
  • Enforce company policies and maintain compliance with safety and health regulations

Support of Beverage & Training Programs

  • Ensure FOH staff are trained in beverage service standards
  • Support bar operations when needed, including quality control and guest interaction
  • Contribute to training sessions covering wine, sake, cocktails, and pairing knowledge

Qualifications

  • 2–3+ years of experience in a supervisory or management role
  • Strong understanding of luxury hospitality and elevated service standards
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain composure and professionalism in a fast-paced environment
  • TIPS/ASK certificate
  • Knowledge of Japanese cuisine is a plus
  • Strong organizational and administrative abilities

WORKING CONDITIONS

· Hours may vary if manager must fill in for his/her employees or if emergencies arise (typical work week = 50 hours).

· Ability to perform all functions at the restaurant level, including delivery when needed.

· Position requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting products and supplies weighing 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist motion.

· Work with hot, cold, and hazardous equipment as well as operates phones, computers, fax machines, copiers, and other office equipment.
