House Supervisor Of Easterseals Northwest Ohio

Location: Rossford, OH

Pay: $21.63/hr.

Shift: Monday - Sunday 8a-5p Flex

Job Summary:  Incumbent performs duties according to standard Division policies, procedures, goals and objectives, exercising discretion and independent judgment in effectively applying guidelines to individual cases and circumstances and in supervising assigned personnel. Incumbent makes a substantial contribution to the agency's
mission by implementing training programs according to agency policies and procedures. Incumbent works with minimum direct supervision, referring to supervisor any unusual or unprecedented situations, such as misconduct of assigned staff. Work is reviewed for compliance with agency policy and effect on agency goals and objectives.
Incumbent maintains frequent contact with other Easterseals Arc personnel, other agencies, government officials, the public, clients and their families/guardians for the purpose of exchanging information, coordinating, directing and supervising training operations to meet client needs.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintains detailed client case notes, compiles and submits reports as needed.
  • Accurately tracks, monitors and documents all approved billing.
  • Ensure the documentation in the home is accurate and up to date.
  • Assists in development, implementation, documentation, summarization and reporting of daily living and
  • behavioral training as determined by the Individual Support Plan (ISP)
  • Monitors Behavior Management in accordance with the ISP.
  • Oversees daily operation of the residence to maintain a pleasant living environment and atmosphere.
  • Ensure that all the individuals' plans are implemented as written.
  • Plan, budget, implement, supervise and assist with recreation and transportation as needed.
  • Supervises assigned personnel, including interviewing, hiring, orienting, training, disciplining and terminating, reviewing and approving work schedules. Shall perform duties of absent personnel as needed.
  • Adheres to Easterseals Arc Human Resources and EEO/AA policies and performs other duties as assigned.
  • Ensure that all staff are properly trained prior to working with participants and that the training is documented according to department policy.
  • Facilitates regular staff meetings.
  • Administers medications and assists in meeting client health care needs.
  • Supervises staff to ensure proper administration and documentation of client medications.
  • Arranges for special medical services, including hearing aids, therapies and orthopedic shoes, adaptive equipment
  • Ensures ordering of medication refills as needed.
  • Follows and ensures staff adherence to menus and nutritional recommendations provided by the dietician.
  • Monitors client MAR's ensure MAR documentation is correct and complete.
  • Uphold agency values and follows agency policies and procedures.
  • Maintain confidentiality of records/information according to HIPAA, State, Federal Laws and guidelines.
  • Maximize and responsibly utilize agency and community resources.
  • Serves as a liaison to participants and family members and county boards.
  • All other duties assigned

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Must be 18 years of age
  • High School diploma or GED Required
  • Experience working with individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities; prefer 2 years
  • 1 year of supervisory experience preferred
  • Ability to pass criminal registry, background checks and other checks deemed necessary
  • Valid driver's license and insured vehicle
  • Basic language, written and computer skills necessary for communication and documentation
  • Ability and willingness to support individuals with challenging behavior and or medical concerns
  • Ability to pass and maintain all required training deemed by DODD

Work Environment/Conditions
Supervisors work in a changing environment that adjusts to the needs of the individuals in programming services. The environment may be fast paced with interruptions, distractions and deadlines. Supervisors need to be flexible and be able to adjust to changing needs, activities and locations. Supervisor must be able to tolerate tobacco smoke and/or pet dander based on the individual being supported. Supervisors must have an insured, safe vehicle in good working order to utilize for incidental transportation required for staff and program participants to and from community activities.
