JOB SUMMARY

The purpose of this position is to perform pulmonary assessments, testing techniques, treatment management, control, and care for infants, pediatrics, and young adults with deficiencies and abnormalities of the cardiorespiratory systems. This position on their daily shift assesses and maintains respiratory equipment and supplies and provides consultation to other staff in the care of these clients.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education and/or years of experience required Graduate of an accredited respiratory care program Possess a current unencumbered license from the State of North Dakota as a Respiratory Care Practitioner One year of respiratory therapy experience BLS Certification PALS Certification Valid drivers license

Preferred Skills and Abilities

Three years Respiratory Therapy Experience Experiences with respiratory equipment such as CPT suction, pulse oximeters, ventilators, HFNC heated-cool mists, cough assist, CPAP, Bilevel Oxygen analyzers, End tidal CO2 monitors, Bernoulli alarm system concentrators, and nebulizers Supervision of others, decision making aptitude if applicable

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Scope and complexity This position assumes the authority, responsibility, and accountability for evaluating, modifying, and coordinating respiratory treatment plans, evaluating equipment settings, making adjustments and recommendations as needed, and for completing diagnostic respiratory testing to and for the clients at ACC.

The Respiratory Therapist will work with nursing staff and physician to best meet the respiratory and overall needs of the individuals served.
