Position Overview
The Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) will provide comprehensive respiratory care to patients across a variety of settings, including acute care, emergency services, and critical care. This role requires strong clinical judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer respiratory therapy treatments, including oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and ventilator support
- Perform patient assessments, monitor respiratory status, and respond to changes in condition
- Manage mechanical ventilators and assist with airway management
- Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis and interpret results
- Provide emergency respiratory care in ER and ICU settings
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes
- Educate patients and families on respiratory conditions and treatments
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations
Education and Certification Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Therapy program
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential required
- Active Arizona Respiratory Therapist license or eligibility required
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- PALS certification preferred
- New graduates welcome to apply
Preferred Experience
- Acute care experience
- Emergency room (ER) and intensive care unit (ICU) support
- Experience with mechanical ventilation and airway management
- Proficiency in arterial blood gas (ABG) analysis
- Familiarity with critical access hospital environments
