Job Title: Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Duration: 13 Weeks
Location: 1000 Johnson Ferry Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30342
Department: 736A Respiratory Care/Diagnostic Services
Schedule: Nights, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, 3×12-hour shifts (36 hours/week) with every other weekend
Local Candidates: Not accepted within 50 miles

Job Summary

The Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides comprehensive respiratory care to patients with acute and chronic cardiopulmonary conditions. The therapist assesses, treats, and monitors patients requiring respiratory interventions, collaborates with the multidisciplinary healthcare team, and responds to respiratory emergencies while ensuring safe, evidence-based patient care.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Assess, evaluate, and monitor patients with respiratory and cardiopulmonary disorders.
  • Administer oxygen therapy, aerosol medications, and other respiratory treatments as prescribed.
  • Set up, manage, and monitor invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilation.
  • Perform ventilator assessments, adjustments, and weaning protocols.
  • Conduct arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling and interpret results to guide respiratory therapy.
  • Perform airway management procedures, including suctioning and emergency respiratory interventions.
  • Respond to rapid response, code blue, and respiratory emergency situations.
  • Monitor patient response to therapy and communicate changes in condition to the healthcare team.
