Job Summary and Qualifications

The Respiratory Therapy Assistant is an individual who, after comprehensive training, is able to function independently in some aspects of respiratory care. The responsibilities of the respiratory therapy assistant to demonstrate proficiency in all noninvasive modalities of Respiratory Care and other multidisciplinary assigned skills as defined by training and competency demonstration. The Respiratory Therapy Assistant will be responsible for execution of assignments. All care will be in compliance with hospital and respiratory policies. May work with Respiratory Therapists in the clinical care setting. Supports Customer First Initiatives.

What you will do in this role:

  • As observed by manager and others.
  • Review of documentation.
  • Patient care and/or department service is delivered in a safe, competent, and efficient manner as determined by outcomes, quality monitors, and other internal and external process.
  • Conduct and interpersonal relationships contribute positively to the delivery of quality care and services, and to orderly operation of the department and the facility.
  • Skills are maintained and enhanced through consultation with interdisciplinary team members, participation in planning activities, and attendance at in-service and continuing education programs.

What qualifications you will need:

  • Graduation from/or currently enrolled in accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.
  •  BCLS required.
  •  NRP Certification preferred but not required.
  • No experience Required Years of Experience
