Job Summary

The Resource Teacher at St. Louis Catholic Academy provides targeted academic support to students with diverse learning needs. This role focuses on delivering individualized and small-group instruction, collaborating with classroom teachers, and ensuring that all students are supported in reaching their full academic and personal potential within a faith-based learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Instruction and Intervention
• • Provide individualized and small-group instruction in core subject areas
  • Develop and implement intervention strategies to support student learning
  • Adapt and modify curriculum materials to meet diverse learning needs
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
• Student Support and Inclusion
• • Support students with identified learning differences or academic challenges
  • Promote inclusion by assisting students within the general education classroom when appropriate
  • Foster student confidence, independence, and self-advocacy skills
• Assessment and Documentation
• • Conduct informal and formal assessments to identify student needs
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions
  • Assist in the development and implementation of individualized learning plans, if applicable
• Collaboration
• • Work closely with classroom teachers to align instruction and support strategies
  • Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress
  • Collaborate with administration and support staff to ensure appropriate services
• Faith Integration and School Community Support
• • Support and uphold the Catholic mission and values of the school
  • Participate in school liturgies, prayer, and community activities
  • Foster a respectful and compassionate learning environment

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Education or related field. Certification or experience in special education, intervention, or related area preferred. Knowledge of differentiated instruction and intervention strategies. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills. Commitment to Catholic education and student-centered learning.

Work Environment

Elementary school setting with a focus on academic support services. Collaborative, faith-based educational community. Regular interaction with students, teachers, staff, and families.
