    REQUIRED QUALIFICATONS:

    • Current Michigan Certification with appropriate endorsement for specified subject area â special education with preference for endorsement in Learning Disability.
    • Work closely with, and consult with, general education teachers to assist in developing appropriate programming for students with special needs.
    • Provide assistance and instruction in the general education classroom to help students be successful in their education.
    • Proficiency in developing Present Levels of Educational Performance statements and IEP goals and objectives.
    • Proficiency in developing instructional behavior plans including positive behavior supports and instruction in appropriate social and classroom behaviors.
    • Proficiency in implementing IEPs and positive behavior intervention strategies.
    • Organize paraeducator staff as per IEP.
    • Evaluate and report out on achievement of students on his/her caseload.
    • Knowledge of PLC's, PBS, GLCE's, EGLCE's, HSCE's.
    • Knowledge of interventions for the Michigan Merit Exam.
    • Knowledge of personal curriculum(s).
    • Ability to modify and make accommodations to general education curriculum.
    • Case manage and monitor student materials appropriate to the ability of the student.
    • Maintain special education records in compliance and provide Special Education Director with all required documents.
    • Knowledge of Response to Intervention (RTI) and patterns of strengths and weaknesses.
    • Assist students in developing positive student study skills and work habits.
    • Provide instructional support necessary for students to progress in their educational program.
    • Must attend trainings as directed by the supervisor.
    • Perform other duties as may be assigned.
