Resource RN

Founded in 1982 as Joliet Area Community Hospice, Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness is an independent non-profit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in Illinois. We have a state-of-the-art facility and the first free-standing hospice inpatient unit in Illinois. We have a 35-year history for providing compassionate professional care to terminally ill patients and their families. We are state-licensed and Medicare-Medicaid certified.

We are currently seeking a Resource RN to support our patients as well as referrals in the Northern counties of Illinois, primarily Northern Cook and Lake. This is a full-time salaried position comprised of two 12-hour shifts and two 8-hour shifts per week, including every other weekend.

Responsibilities of the Resource RN:

• Providing skilled nursing interventions and supportive care in patients homes, nursing homes, or long-term care facilities
• Administering medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and plan of care
• Supporting growth in the North territories by assisting with admissions

Requirements:

• RN licensure with a minimum of one (1) year nursing experience in home health, critical care, or long-term care (although hospice experience is preferred)
• Self-directed and able to work with minimal supervision
• Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured in accordance with state or organization requirements and is in good working order
