Residential SoftPlan Drafter/Designer
4-Month Contract-to-Hire Position
$22 - $27 an hour, with increase in compensation after becoming a full-time employee

Position Overview
They are seeking a highly skilled Residential SoftPlan Drafter to join their design team. The ideal candidate will have experience in residential drafting and construction documents, excellent attention to detail, and proficiency in SoftPlan software. This individual will play a critical role in transforming client ideas and design concepts into accurate, buildable plans that align with project goals and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Create and develop complete residential construction drawings using SoftPlan
Interpret design concepts, sketches, and preliminary plans to produce accurate construction documents
Modify and update existing plans based on client feedback and design revisions
Ensure all drawings meet local building codes, zoning regulations, and company standards
Coordinate with internal teams, including designers, project managers, and builders, to ensure seamless project execution
Maintain organized records of drawings, revisions, and related project documents
Assist with permitting documentation as required
Participate in design meetings and contribute to problem-solving and design optimization
Qualifications
Required:
Proficiency in SoftPlan drafting software
2 or more years of residential drafting experience
Solid understanding of residential construction methods, building codes, and zoning requirements
Ability to read, interpret, and create detailed construction documents
Strong organizational and communication skills
High attention to detail and accuracy
Experience working with permitting authorities or knowledge of Florida building codes
Familiarity with 3D renderings or presentation drawings
