What You'll Do In This Role:
The Residential Services Manager is a dynamic leader who inspires a team dedicated to enhancing the lives of participants in a 24/7 Adult Foster Care home. This role combines leadership, clinical oversight, and operational excellence to create a safe, engaging, and person-centered environment where participants can thrive. By mentoring staff, collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, and driving high-quality care and service delivery, the Residential Services Manager makes a meaningful impact every day. Key Responsibilities
Operations & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee the day-to-day management of a 24/7 Adult Foster Care home, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality participant services.
- Maintain adherence to state, federal, and organizational regulations through policy implementation, documentation oversight, and regulatory readiness.
- Coordinate audits, address compliance findings, and implement corrective actions to support ongoing quality and operational excellence.
Staff Management & Workforce Development
- Oversee hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management to build a high-performing care team.
- Coordinate schedules and on-call support to ensure appropriate staffing levels and continuous 24/7 participant care.
- Monitor staff competencies, certifications, documentation, and care delivery standards to maintain regulatory compliance and service excellence.
Participant Care/service & Clinical Oversight
- Serve as the Interdisciplinary Team (IDT) Registered Nurse, overseeing participant health needs and nursing care.
- Manage admissions, discharges, and ongoing care planning in partnership with participants, families, and the care team.
- Conduct assessments, lead care plan development and reviews, and ensure participant preferences, goals, and advance care wishes are documented and honored.
Medication & Health Services Management
- Ensure accurate medication administration records (MAR/TAR) and compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Partner with providers and pharmacies to manage medication changes and monthly reconciliations.
- Administer medications as needed while training and supervising staff to maintain safe and compliant medication practices.
Quality & Performance Improvement
- Track key quality indicators and performance metrics to ensure high standards of care and service delivery.
- Conduct reviews of care, documentation, and operations to identify opportunities for enhancement and corrective action.
- Promote a culture of continuous quality improvement, compliance, and team accountability.
Financial & Administrative Oversight
- Support management of participant trust funds in collaboration with supervisor
- Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant documentation across all operational and clinical areas
Ancillary Services Oversight
- Oversee and support delivery of essential daily living services, ensuring high-quality outcomes and participant satisfaction:
- Meal services and nutrition
- Housekeeping and environmental safety
- Laundry services
- Life enrichment and engagement activities
- Transportation coordination
- Customer service and participant experience
- Collaborate with supervisor to guide and support staff responsible for ancillary services

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Diploma or degree from an accredited School of Nursing or University.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license to practice in the State of Michigan.
- Minimum of five years in healthcare, including supervisory or management experience.
- Experience supporting frail older adults, long-term care populations, or individuals receiving end-of-life care preferred.
- Strong understanding of Adult Foster Care (AFC) regulations, compliance requirements, participant care, and medication management.
- Ability to manage daily operations in a 24/7 setting
- Current CPR and ServSafe certification or willing to obtain certification within the first 30 days of employment.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license to travel within the service area as needed.
