Job Summary:

Comfort Temp Heating and Air is seeking a Residential Install Technician to support the installation of residential HVAC systems and related components. This role is designed for someone who has progressed beyond entry-level helper work and can take on a larger share of installation responsibilities, while still working under the direction of an Install Lead, Field Supervisor, or Install Manager as needed.

The Residential Install Technician is expected to contribute meaningfully to jobsite productivity, safety, workmanship, customer experience, and documentation. This position is ideal for someone who is building toward a future lead role or for a seasoned installer who prefers to remain a strong second on the job rather than the primary lead.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Assist with and perform residential HVAC equipment installations according to company standards and manufacturer specifications
• Support change-outs, system replacements, and installation of related components and accessories
• Measure, prepare, fabricate, and install basic ductwork and duct fittings as assigned
• Assist with system start-up, testing, and verification of proper operation
• Identify basic installation issues, leaks, fitment concerns, or visible mechanical problems and report findings appropriately
• Perform jobsite preparation, teardown, cleanup, and material staging
• Ensure all required tools, equipment, and materials are present, organized, and maintained in good working order
• Support safe loading, delivery, transport, and removal of equipment and materials from customer sites
• Complete assigned paperwork, installation records, and job-related documentation accurately and on time
• Communicate professionally with customers on jobsite expectations, system care, and general questions within scope
• Maintain company vehicles, tools, and property in a clean and professional manner
• Follow all company safety procedures before, during, and after installation activity
• Work effectively with Install Leads, Helpers, dispatch, and management to keep jobs moving efficiently
• Represent the company professionally and ethically in all business matters

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Valid driver's license and driving record in compliance with company requirements
• 2+ years of HVAC install experience preferred; strong helpers with relevant field exposure and mechanical aptitude may also be considered
• General knowledge of residential HVAC systems, air duct structures, and installation practices
• Ability to read work orders, follow installation instructions, and carry out assigned tasks with limited supervision
• Basic understanding of tools, materials, and safe jobsite practices related to HVAC installation
• Ability to identify obvious installation issues and escalate appropriately
• Strong customer service, teamwork, and communication skills
• Good organizational and time management habits
• Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly, climb ladders, and use power tools safely
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• EPA certification preferred, or willingness to obtain if required by the role
