Mortgage Loan Officer - Full Time | Onsite
Location: Northern New Jersey
Compensation: $25.00 - $35.00
Schedule: Interim; Temporary; 100% on-site
Overview
A well-established financial institution is seeking a Mortgage Loan Officer to support its residential lending team. This role is responsible for managing the end-to-end processing of mortgage and home equity loan applications, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely completion.
Key Responsibilities
Perform initial file review and request any missing or additional
Documentation
Order and track credit reports, flood certifications, appraisals, and supporting loan documentation
Coordinate with third parties including appraisers, credit bureaus, employers, and financial institutions
Maintain consistent follow-up to ensure timely receipt of all required documentation
Assist borrowers throughout the process, explaining requirements and ensuring accurate completion of forms
Review credit documentation for accuracy, authenticity, and compliance with lending guidelines
Verify borrower income, assets, liabilities, and creditworthiness
Conduct preliminary appraisal reviews to determine loan-to-value ratios
Prepare and deliver initial disclosures in accordance with TRID regulations
Order Private Mortgage Insurance (PMI) when applicable
Assemble complete loan packages and prepare documentation (1003/1008) for underwriting submission
Ensure all files meet internal procedures and regulatory requirements
Support additional lending and operational functions as needed
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Minimum 2+ years of mortgage processing experience
Strong knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC guidelines and regulatory requirements
Experience with mortgage origination systems preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Excellent organizational, time management, and communication skills
Strong customer service mindset and ability to work collaboratively
High level of attention to detail and accuracy
