Burnett is excited to be partnering with a growing specialty contractor who specializes in softscape and hardscape services for newly developed communities. Typical projects involve entryways, recreation areas, amenity centers, and common areas. They have an immediate need for a motivated Residential Field Technician to join their expanding team in San Antonio. This role involves quality control inspections related to landscape and irrigation, ensuring high-quality standards are maintained in residential projects.
Responsibilities:
Field Responsibilities:
Perform quality control walks and inspections for landscape and irrigation installations
Attach warranty stickers with completion dates on controllers, including irrigation maps and watering schedules
Verify programming on irrigation controllers to ensure correct start times and watering days
Test and inspect all irrigation zones, checking heads, bubblers, and other components
Take photos of any broken heads, lines, or other issues, and mark them clearly for repairs
Adjust irrigation heads, nozzles, and bubblers when necessary
Ensure landscaping installations meet project standards, including plant placement and tree installations
Check the depth, root barriers, and wiring for trees to ensure proper installation
Inspect sod installation to ensure proper coverage
Field Expectations:
Check in daily with your Division Manager
Inspect spec homes for issues like dead sod or trees
Ensure all workers are using proper PPE
Communicate effectively with builders, homeowners, and team members
Office Responsibilities:
Submit all paperwork on time (e.g., mileage logs, PTO requests, receipts)
Maintain a professional vehicle appearance
Respond to emails in a timely manner
Assist with inventory checks and ordering materials when necessary
Qualifications:
High School Diploma (required)
Valid, state-issued Drivers License with a clean driving record
Experience in landscape, irrigation or similar industries
Backflow License and Tech License (preferred)
Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) is a plus
