The Arc of Ocean County is seeking compassionate and dependable Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in residential programs throughout Ocean County. This part-time position offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting individuals in their daily lives while promoting independence, safety, and community inclusion.
We are actively hiring for evening, overnight, and weekend coverage across multiple residential locations including Brick, Barnegat, Toms River, Lakewood, Jackson, Lacey Township, and Beachwood.
Position Details
Employment Type: Part-Time
Available Shifts:
7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
3:00 PM – 11:00 PM
11:00 PM – 9:00 AM (Awake Overnight)
Weekend availability required
Pay Range: $20.20 – $24.20 per hour
Bi-weekly pay schedule
Shift differential and overtime opportunities available
Essential Responsibilities
Provide direct support to individuals residing in group homes, supervised apartments, and supported living settings.
Assist with activities of daily living including hygiene, grooming, meal preparation, household responsibilities, and medication administration.
Promote independence, personal choice, and community participation while supporting individualized goals and care plans.
Provide hands-on assistance and supervision to help ensure the health, safety, and well-being of individuals served.
Complete electronic documentation, daily notes, medication records, and other required program documentation accurately and on time.
Support residents with varying physical, behavioral, and emotional support needs in a respectful and person-centered manner.
Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive home environment.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, family members, and interdisciplinary team members.
Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities is welcomed, but not required. Paid training is provided.
Requirements
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Valid New Jersey driver’s license in good standing required, with no more than five (5) points.
Demonstrated employment stability preferred, including at least one (1) year with a previous employer.
