Residential Development Manager – Real Estate Development

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Residential Development Manager to oversee and execute real estate development projects from site acquisition through final delivery. This role requires a strong background in land development, financial analysis, project management, and market strategy.
The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and bring a combination of technical expertise, business acumen, and relationship-building skills to drive successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and evaluate new residential development opportunities
  • Conduct market research, feasibility studies, and financial underwriting
  • Lead all phases of development including site acquisition, entitlements, design, and construction
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines to ensure on-time and on-budget delivery
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, brokers, and government agencies
  • Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, consultants, and development partners
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal real estate regulations
  • Monitor project performance and adjust strategies to meet financial and operational goals
  • Present project updates, financials, and progress reports to senior leadership
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with brokers, investors, and industry partners
  • Drive achievement of project proformas and budget targets
Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Residential Development Manager or similar role
  • Strong understanding of the real estate development lifecycle and market trends
  • Experience with site acquisition, underwriting, entitlements, and construction management
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication abilities
  • Knowledge of zoning, permitting, and regulatory requirements
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and proforma development
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
Education
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Real Estate, Business, Construction Management, or related field (required)
  • Master’s Degree or professional certification in Real Estate Development or Project Management (preferred)
