Job Summary:

In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of a residential program, supervise Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs), and ensure that client care meets the highest standards of safety, compliance, and effectiveness. You will coordinate staffing, support training initiatives, monitor program activities, and collaborate with clinical teams to ensure continuity of care. Your leadership will directly influence both staff performance and the overall success of the youth recovery program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and supervise Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs) to ensure high-quality care in a residential treatment setting
  • Oversee daily program operations, ensuring youth clients follow structured routines, safety protocols, and therapeutic expectations
  • Recruit, interview, hire, and train staff while developing individualized training and development plans
  • Coordinate staff schedules and ensure adequate coverage to meet program and contractual requirements
  • Monitor staff performance through observation, coaching, and video review to ensure appropriate client interactions
  • Facilitate staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing supervision sessions while maintaining required documentation
  • Collaborate with clinical teams during treatment team meetings to support care coordination and program outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with CARF standards, state regulations, and company policies related to behavioral health and substance abuse treatment
  • Oversee medication management processes, UA procedures, and documentation standards within the program
  • Support and reinforce a therapeutic, safe, and structured environment for youth in recovery

Education, Experience, and/or Credential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, Psychiatric Nursing, or a closely related human services field required

OR

  • High School diploma or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in mental health or substance use treatment required
  • Minimum of one (1) year of supervisory experience required

Additional Qualifications:

  • Valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and current auto insurance required
  • Ability to pass background checks including criminal, driving, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint screening
  • Strong knowledge of behavioral health, substance use disorder treatment, and youth residential programming
  • Experience with CARF accreditation standards and regulatory compliance preferred
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team-building skills in a healthcare or human services environment
  • Ability to manage schedules, staffing needs, and operational workflows effectively
  • Strong documentation and organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and support continuous improvement initiatives
  • Must attain required certifications and trainings within designated timeframes (CPI, medication administration, etc.)

Physical Requirements

  • Perform primarily sedentary work with occasional standing and walking in a residential treatment setting
  • Use hands and fingers frequently for documentation, computer work, and communication
  • Occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 10 pounds
  • Maintain mobility to supervise staff, observe client activity, and respond to program needs
