Resident Services Coordinator

ACCOUNTABILTY:           Director of The Village

 

WORK AREAS:                McLean Campus and surrounding community

 

CLASSIFICATION:           Non-exempt

 

POSITION SUMMARY:    

Responsible for the planning, scheduling and implementation of all components of resident services and engagement geared towards enhancing quality of life.  Does this by utilizing a multitude of resources including residents, volunteers, staff and community resources.  OverseesLifestyleCoordinator staff to assure a vibrant schedule of activities and opportunities.

 

JOB FUNCTIONS:

 

  1. Collaborate with residents, families, community resources, volunteers and staff to develop and implement an environment that meets the social and activity needs of our residents.  Creates well rounded opportunities for engagement, meaningful pursuits, social interaction, growth learning, fun and enjoyment,
  2. Responsible for developing and implementing engaging programs and services geared toward meeting a variety of resident needs with a balance of productive leisure, recreational and educational activities recognizing the individuality of each resident. Including evening and weekend programming opportunities.
  3. Develops a volunteer program to support resident engagement.  Offers opportunities for residents to strive for something bigger than themselves through volunteerism and community involvement.
  4. Embrace the philosophy that activity and engagement promote a sense of wellness, reduces isolation and promotes socialization.
  5. Works with Boundless Wellness Director to explore and facilitate identified life enrichment opportunities for residents on campus and in the community.
  6. Meets and greets new residents and assists them through the transition of moving to a new environment offering support and guidance.
  7. Responsible for the scheduling of transportation needs for the campus.  Coordinates driver’s schedules to meet the needs of residents of IL & AL.  Reports vehicle maintenance issues to the Director of the Village.
  8. Oversees transportation drivers.
  9. Drives vehicles as needed for resident functions.
  10. Collaborates with Campus Liaison to identify needs of IL residents
  11. Works with Village team members to promote a safe and welcoming environment
  12. Works closely with the Village Director and village team to assure resident needs are being met.  Assists with various functions within the village environment that support the residents, including, but not limited to assisting residents with work orders, installation of life lines, and general questions and support.                                                                                                                                                                 
  13. Supports atmosphere conducive to independence
  14. Works with the Director to develop and maintain community partnerships to engage our residents in the community and bring the community to campus.
  15. Responsible for working within Activities budget
  16. Other duties as assigned.

 

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Typical Physical Demands: 

  • Lifting and transferring of items weighing up to 35 pounds; combined with bending and turning. 
  • Requires the use of computers, and various equipment. 
  • Requires manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination. 
  • Requires corrected vision and hearing within normal range.
  • Requires ability to work in all weather conditions.

 

Typical Working Conditions:  Work is performed throughout the McLean campus as well as surrounding community.

  • Effective written communication skills
  • Ability to inspire and engage others. 
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. 
  • Ability to adhere to regulatory guidelines.

 

Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred.

 

Certification/Licensure: Valid Driver’s License.

 

Experience: Must have experience in program development and management, community recreation, leadership, and working with the mature adult.
