Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled professional to provide on-site engineering support in Dearborn, Michigan, with travel as needed to Troy, Michigan. This role involves serving as the primary software technical liaison and supporting software integration and validation activities. The position is initially for a duration of 6 months with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-site engineering support as the designated Software Resident Engineer.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for software-related technical communication between the customer and the company.
  • Participate in customer meetings and represent the company in technical reviews and discussions.
  • Coordinate software issues and engineering actions with teams in the U.S. and South Korea.
  • Support software integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and root cause investigation.
  • Review customer software requirements, provide technical feedback, and coordinate discussions with global engineering teams.
  • Monitor open issues and drive timely follow-up and closure.
  • Support software validation, customer testing, and vehicle test activities as needed.
  • Prepare and communicate technical status updates to customer teams and internal leadership.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customer and internal stakeholders.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
  • At least 5 years of experience in automotive software engineering.
  • Experience working with a major automotive OEM.
  • Solid understanding of embedded software development for automotive applications.
  • Hands-on experience with CAN communication and diagnostic tools.
  • Proficiency with CANoe, CANalyzer, or equivalent engineering tools.
  • Familiarity with automotive communication protocols, including CAN, LIN, and UDS.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a customer-facing role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a Resident Engineer or similar customer-support engineering role.
  • Knowledge of AUTOSAR architecture.
  • Experience with ECU integration and software validation processes.
  • Familiarity with ASPICE-based software development practices.
  • Experience using Jira or comparable issue-tracking tools.
  • Background in supporting Tier-1 automotive supplier programs.
