Job Description Reporting directly to an Assistant Director for Residence life, the Resident Director (RD) serves as an active and visible residential community member who is responsible for facilitating an engaging residential experience that is highly relational, fosters curiosity and learning, centers well-being; and supports students in successfully finding their way.
The RD supports the residential experience by providing comprehensive management of 1-2 residence halls, or multiple apartment units that house approximately 230-600 residents and supervises 8-20 Resident Assistants (RA). Primary duties and responsibilities involve residential engagement and student learning; building administration and operations; supervision and management; student advising and leadership development; crisis management and student support; as well as organizational leadership.
