Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution as approved and accepted by the University of South Alabama, one year of residence hall, student affairs, or directly related experience, and possession of a valid driver's license and maintenance of a driving record sufficient to maintain insurance coverage under the University of South Alabama. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
This is a live-in position, with on-campus housing and meal plan provided by the University.

Job Description Summary
The University of South Alabama's Central Housing department is seeking to hire two Residence Life Coordinator II's. Interested candidates should apply to be considered.
Essential Functions
These are the job duties required of the position.
Essential Functions
- Lives on campus in an apartment provided by the University.
- Directly supervises Resident Assistants and Desk Assistants and manages the daily operations of the assigned residential housing area.
- Independently coordinates the recruitment, selection, training and evaluation of residential student staff.
- Collaborates with housing functional areas in matters related to hall maintenance, room assignments, roommate conflicts, verification of occupancy, and hall/room damage issues.
- Assesses and evaluates student conduct cases independently and determines proper action; directs student staff and residents to proper authority when needed.
- Directly leads community programming, including planning, community development, educational initiatives, budgeting, execution, and event assessment.
- Serves on an emergency response on-call rotation to respond to and support student staff members through emergencies, urgent matters, and policy violations on campus.
- Directly provides a high-degree of customer service and resources for student referrals; reports Title IX concerns and/or other issues as appropriate.
- Informs the Assistant Director, Residence Life of student concern issues, crisis situations, and needed referrals promptly.
- Prepares all necessary reports and performs administrative tasks for a residential housing area.
- Manages residential-area community development, educational initiatives, and related budgets.
- Assesses and evaluates programs and services under one's responsibility and initiates improvements as appropriate.
- Conducts staff meetings and meets with staff individually as needed to provide supervision, support, and guidance in their responsibilities and respective residence hall areas.
- Responds to and resolves emergency and non-emergency situations; provides crisis intervention, conflict mediation, academic and general counseling, and resource referrals for residents and resident assistants.
- Collaborates with faculty and staff to facilitate programming within the assigned residential area.
- Maintains standard professional business hours 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday - Friday, while also working after hours, evenings, and weekends as needed.
- Performs as essential personnel (e.g. the ability to remain or arrive to campus in the event of a critical time, i.e. hurricane, tornado, etc.).
- Regular and prompt attendance.
- Ability to work schedule as assigned and additional hours as required.
- Related duties as required.
