Supports the daily operations of a residence hall complex. Contributes to student success by assisting with crisis response, mediating conflicts, leading team meetings, and coordinating facility-related tasks such as inventories and building needs. Participates in admission events, supports opening and closing procedures, and assists with departmental initiatives through committee service.
Major Duties
- Oversees key community operations by managing roommate mediation processes and coordinating occupancy functions, including room changes and related documentation.
- Provides leadership for front desk and office operations by supervising hourly staff, ensuring efficient mail distribution, and maintaining smooth administrative workflows.
- Serves as the payroll timekeeper and building coordinator for the complex and communicates regularly with facilities and custodial partners regarding operational concerns.
- Conducts regular staff meetings and individual check-ins and completes required performance evaluations to promote staff development and accountability.
- Assists with the oversight of a residence hall complex by managing crisis situations and providing timely follow-up.
- Participates in the on call-crisis response rotation and offers guidance to students experiencing personal concerns.
- Supports opening and closing processes for the residential community, including break periods.
- Manages crisis situations and provides appropriate follow-up.
- Hires, trains, evaluates and supervises staff and student employees.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution, or bachelor's degree conferred prior to the start date.
- One year's relevant experience.
- Formal training in and experience with crisis intervention and conflict management.
- Ability to be available for extensive evening and weekend hours and responsibilities, including being on call for emergencies and training.
- Willingness to live on campus in a University residence hall.
