Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Technician.
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Transplant Molecular Lab as a Research Technician. The Research Technician will work closely with the Principal Investigator, research leadership, laboratory staff, and program administrators to support key projects in transplantation, xenotransplantation, and translational molecular research. The position will support studies involving clinical and research biospecimens, development and execution of molecular and cell-based assays, biobanking, and general wet lab operations.
The Research Technician will contribute to projects involving human and pig-to-human xenotransplant studies, including assay development, sample processing, molecular characterization, and maintenance of high-quality laboratory workflows. The successful applicant should have a strong foundation in wet-laboratory methods, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to maintain accurate records while working in a fast-paced translational research environment.
The Research Technician will work closely with laboratory and administrative leadership to ensure that studies are carried out in accordance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, standard operating procedures, and established scientific and safety standards. The role will support day-to-day laboratory operations, execute experimental workflows, help maintain sample and reagent inventories, assist with implementation of new procedures, and contribute to training and coordination activities as needed.

Support biospecimen workflows for translational transplant and xenotransplant studies, including chain-of-custody, accessioning, aliquoting, and freezer organization.
Assist with assay validation, control tracking, and reproducibility efforts for research and translational molecular workflows.
Support preparation of samples for external core facilities and vendors, including packaging, documentation, and shipment coordination.
Help maintain structured sample inventories and associated metadata to support downstream sequencing, molecular profiling, and integrative analyses.
Work collaboratively with quantitative, clinical, and administrative teams to ensure sample integrity, protocol adherence, and timely completion of study milestones.
Provide support for onboarding and practical training of students, junior staff, or volunteers in routine wet lab procedures when needed.
Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with one year of experience. Advanced (beyond basic lab training will be accepted in lieu of experience as assessed by the hiring Principal Investigator). Effective oral and written communication skills required.
Qualified candidates must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of the organization.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $55,649.99 - $60,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need.
