Position Description
Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, a world-renowned research laboratory on Long Island in New York, is seeking an experienced, highly motivated, dedicated, and detail-oriented individual as a Research Technician to join the Spector lab. The individual will work in a state-of-the-art laboratory studying the role of long non-coding RNAs in cancer and differentiation. Spector Lab Website
Position Responsibilities
The candidate will be involved in supporting laboratory operations and resource management for a team of 6 scientists including ordering supplies and monitoring grant expenditures.
Position Requirements
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Biology or a related discipline is required for (level I requirement). Bachelors Degree in Science and 2 years' practical experience working in a lab after completion of their degree (level II requirement)
Skills/Experience: The ideal candidate should have experience in mammalian cell culture, molecular cloning methods, PCR, qPCR, electroporation, running nucleic acid and protein gels. Knowledge in the preparation of RNA samples, and RNA-seq libraries is a plus.
