Position Summary

UNC Genetics Department Heise laboratory is seeking a Research Technician with an interest in antiviral drug development, experimental data review, and data QC/QA. The Research Technician will also assist with experiments, assist with data analysis, and perform quality control work in the lab.

This could be someone with research experience in a discipline such as Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, or Computer, Information or Data Science.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Demonstrated possession of the competencies necessary to perform the work.

Management Preferences

  • Understanding of quality control workflows in a research environment especially antiviral assays
  • Experience with data validation and quality assessment using defined metrics
  • Professional communication skills
  • Proficiency with GrapPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of CDD Vault
  • Attention to detail and accuracy and identification of discrepancies
