As a Research Technician, you will be responsible for handling nuclear material in support of various missions. While some work does require glovebox qualifications, most of our scope does not occur inside gloveboxes. This position requires knowledge and experience using Conduct of Operations, radiological safety, nuclear criticality safety, material control and accountability and environmental compliance requirements. In a typical workday, you will meet with your team in the morning to identify work tasks, hazards and controls and lessons learned from past experiences. That is followed by donning PPE, including anti-contamination coveralls, booties and safety glasses to process into the plutonium facility where you will support other technicians in performing nuclear material handling and measurement activities.
