Position Summary
The individual at this position will function as an integral member of a team to conduct soybean breeding and genetics field experiments and to develop soybean varieties. The primary responsibilities of this position are

Lead setting up, laying out, and managing both summer and winter crossing blocks and lead the team for soybean pollination in both field and greenhouse and managing the greenhouse materials.

Manage the soybean breeding database and conduct the experimental design, harvest plans, data quality control, data analysis, interpretation, and result summarization. Responsible for maintaining seed purity and seed inventories and increasing them as needed.

Closely work with program research coordinator and other team members in all aspects of field research activities, including seed cleaning, treatment and packaging, planting, managing and maintaining field plots, taking field notes, harvesting plots and plant rows, pod picking, post harvest phenotyping, seed composition analyses.

Assist in PI and research coordinator to coordinate the breeding projects for regional trials, cooperative tests and serve a liaison between Seed Lab and Molecular Lab for marker-assisted selection and other projects; maintain an inventory of supplies used in our research and order supplies on a needed basis.
