The Postdoctoral Research Associate will conduct research on corneal wound healing, focusing on molecular and cellular mechanisms of cell-cell communication between corneal layers. Specifically, they will investigate the role of extracellular vesicles and explore loading these vesicles with therapeutic cargo such as growth factors, cytokines, or drugs to promote healing and reduce scarring.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Design and perform in vitro and in vivo experiments to meet project goals.
Collaborate with mentors, review literature, and contribute innovative ideas.
Write grant applications and manuscripts, and prepare reports.
Present research at scientific meetings and conferences.
Pursue career development activities, including coursework.
REQUIREMENTS:
Doctoral degree (MD or PhD) with >6 months lab research experience, experience with extracellular vesicles required.
Work in a lab setting; physical ability to lift 10-20 lbs. depending on projects.
