A manufacturing organization is seeking a Senior Research Chemist in Camden, AR to support research, testing, and development of advanced materials used in specialized production environments. This role will play a critical part in improving chemical processes, supporting new product development initiatives, and solving complex technical challenges while collaborating closely with engineering, production, and quality teams in a regulated manufacturing setting.

Senior Research Chemist Responsibilities:

- Investigate and evaluate the chemical and physical properties of new and existing production materials used in manufacturing processes.
- Lead laboratory testing and analysis to support product development, process optimization, and manufacturing troubleshooting efforts.
- Collaborate with research, engineering, and production teams to identify technical gaps and develop effective solutions to improve product performance and reliability.
- Support scale-up and prototyping activities for new or modified products and manufacturing processes.
- Identify and recommend analytical equipment, instrumentation, and testing methods to support ongoing research and development initiatives.
- Document laboratory procedures, test results, and technical findings in accordance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior chemists and laboratory technicians to support team development and operational success.
- Maintain a safe, organized laboratory environment while ensuring compliance with internal safety protocols and regulatory requirements.



Research Chemist Job Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or closely related scientific field required
- 4+ years of experience formulating explosives, energetic materials, or similar reactive chemical systems obtained through academic research, laboratory coursework, or professional work experience
- Experience working for a government agency or within government regulations is a plus
