The Research Associate is affiliated with the Skills for the Future and Business Excellence (SABE) group in the ETS Research Institute. This role involves assisting with and contributing to ETS assessments and research services globally.
The role involves supporting and contributing to research in higher education and workforce-related topics, collecting and analyzing data, contributing to reports and presentations, and coordinating research-related activities and procedures. The Research Associate provides independent technical support to research projects with minimal guidance from senior staff, supports the coordination and execution of the scope of work of research projects, participates in coordinating staff efforts across multiple roles (e.g., research assistants, scientists, data analysts, engineers, program administrators, directors, etc.), and contributes as a co-author to presentations or publications.
Functional/Technical
Apply and integrate new technologies and AI to innovate and better support research
Support the design and development of AI-supported assessment prototypes of skills and other constructs
Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis, synthesize and interpret results, and design and prepare charts, tables, figures, and graphics for reports and presentations
Collaborate with educators and stakeholders through co-design sessions to ensure usability and classroom relevance of assessment tools
Demonstrate flexibility and initiative in learning new tools, methodologies, and techniques to advance research initiatives

Required Education Requirements
A Masters degree is required; A MS in Industrial-Organizational Psychology is preferred; a MS in Education, Psychology, Psychometrics, or a related field will also be considered.
Required Skills
Strong project management and organizational skills.
Knowledge of educational or workforce assessments and related research.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with diverse stakeholders, including educators, researchers, and technology developers.
Experience in contributing to research in educational or workforce assessments.
Experience in coordinating research projects.
Proficiency in statistical analysis, including but not limited to descriptive analysis, correlational analysis, and linear models (ANOVA and regression), using related software, such as R or Python
Strong collaborative skills with evidence to work effectively in teams
Strong time management and critical thinking skills
