The Research Associate maintains essential study documents for clinical research studies and ensures study compliance.
Responsibilities:1. Assures timely submissions of research data and correspondences to all research affiliates and statistical centers
2. Works daily in collaboration with other research team members including but not limited to Principal Investigators, Research Nurse Coordinators, Clinical Research Coordinator, Clinical Data Coordinator, Sponsors, Contract Research Organizations, and employees of Hackensack University Medical Center
3. Obtains patient consent for minimal risk studies
4. Verifies that all patients have provided informed consent prior to entering study specific data
5. Maintain adequate inventory of research supplies necessary for research activities
6. Collect, enter, and manage data, including creation and maintenance of multiple project databases using REDCap, Excel formulas/macros, and if applicable: SPSS syntax, and other statistical packages
7. Assist with quantitative data analysis and interpretation
8. Prepare IRB materials, literature searches on related topics, PowerPoint slides, and graphics/charts/other tabular data presentations
9. Establish and maintain tracking systems for trainings provided, project requirement deadlines, etc
10. Assist with the provision of trainings, conference presentations, and writing of manuscripts
11. Schedule, organize, and participate in meetings and conference calls related to research, including preparation of materials and keeping meeting minutes as needed
12. Provide administrative and technical support
13. Supervise student volunteers as appropriate
14. Assist the Director and Project Administrators in all aspects of their work, including the preparation of grants and other funding applications and trainings
15. Perform related duties & responsibilities as assigned/requested
16. Prepare reports, including but not limited enrollment logs which assists with institutional statistical analysis
17. Ability to sit and concentrate at a computer workstation for a minimum of 4 hours at a single sitting
18. Identifies the needs of the patient population served and modifies and delivers care that is specific to those needs (i.e., age, culture, language, hearing and/or visually impaired, etc.). This process includes communicating with the patient, parent, and/or primary caregiver(s) at their level (developmental/age, educational, literacy, etc.)

20. Other duties and/or projects as assigned.

Qualifications:Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
1. Medical student having completed three (3) years of medical school
2. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 3. Proficient computer skills that may include but are not limited to Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platforms.
