Job Title - Research and Development Associate 1
Location - Research Triangle Park, NC
Duration - 6 Months
Job Description:- Participates in research and development activities by executing assigned laboratory tasks to support project delivery (approximately 90% bench work and 10% office work).
- Performs wet-lab experiments using established scientific and basic quantitative techniques to generate, compile, and analyze data; develops or adapts protocols as needed.
- Prepares clear technical documentation and reports describing procedures, results, and observations; communicates findings by summarizing and reporting data to the project teams and functional leads.
- Works under close supervision, following instructions, SOPs, and established processes.
Skills:- Knowledge of host–pathogen interactions, plant science, or a related field.
- Demonstrated hands-on experience in molecular biology techniques, including (but not limited to) molecular cloning, plant DNA/RNA/protein extraction, PCR/qRT-PCR, and related methods.
- Preferred: Experience with biochemistry techniques such as Western blotting, co-immunoprecipitation (Co-IP), and related methods.
- Preferred: Experience performing surrogate assays using plant infiltration (e.g., transient expression/infiltration-based assays).
- Strong data quality mindset, including attention to detail, thorough documentation, traceability, and adherence to SOPs.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to summarize, interpret, and present data to project teams and functional leads.
- Strong time-management skills, with the ability to deliver routine data uploads and timely project updates.
Education:
Required: Master’s degree (M.S. or equivalent).e
