Job Title: Repository Technician
Job Description
The Repository Technician is responsible for the receipt, inventory, storage, and shipping of clinical agents, chemical compounds, and biological specimens to clinical sites and laboratories. Materials are stored at temperatures ranging from ambient to -196°C and may have hazardous properties, requiring strict adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory procedures. This role uses database applications and standard precautionary practices to work independently, communicate effectively, and exercise sound judgment. The position may require occasional travel, up to approximately 25%, to nearby operational sites.

Work Environment
This role is based in a warehouse and repository environment that supports clinical and laboratory operations. Work is performed in cold conditions ranging from ambient temperature down to -196°C, with regular exposure to -80°C freezers, dry ice, liquid nitrogen cryogenics, and potentially hazardous or infectious agents. Employees experience marked changes in temperature and must follow universal precautions, facility safety guidelines, and SOPs at all times. The work is highly repetitive and requires continuous walking, standing, reaching, and lifting up to 50 pounds, as well as routinely pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds. Team members may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, or crawl to complete tasks. The schedule is primarily first shift (approximately 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.), with the need for flexibility to work varying hours and overtime as business demands. Travel between nearby division sites, including locations such as Rockville and surrounding areas, may be required and will be communicated in advance. The environment emphasizes safety, quality, and adherence to regulatory standards, and provides structured training through one-on-one instruction, on-the-job training, and formal training protocols to support success in the role.
